About Us

Born out of the War on Poverty, we have been walking alongside those facing economic insecurity for nearly 60 years! We fight poverty, regardless of its cause, and we are the authority on ending poverty in our community. At Tri County Community Action, our mission is to empower individuals and communities by addressing the root causes of poverty. The unequal distribution of opportunities and resources is evident in the challenges faced by the communities in which we work; whether it's access to quality education, stable housing, mental health services, or sustainable employment.

The multi-dimensional nature of poverty highlights that it's not just about income - it's about barriers that prevent individuals and families from thriving. By focusing on programs and initiatives that tackle these underlying issues, we create pathways to opportunity and equity. We work collaboratively to remove systemic barriers, build capacity, and ensure that every individual in our tri-county region has the tools and support needed to achieve long-term success.
